Inulin is a naturally occurring polysaccharide (fructan) found in the roots and tubers of many plants, most commonly extracted from chicory root (Cichorium intybus). It is used as a prebiotic dietary fibre, a fat replacer, and a texturising agent in food and cosmetic products.
Classifications are made to the best of our knowledge based on available scientific and regulatory sources.
