Is Isooctyl Tallate vegetarian?

Isooctyl Tallate

Vegetarian Vegetarian

Isooctyl Tallate is an ester of isooctyl alcohol and tall oil fatty acids, tall oil being a byproduct of wood pulp processing, and is used as an emollient in cosmetics. Although tall oil itself is plant/tree derived, this ingredient category is sometimes formulated with animal-derived tallow-related fatty acids, so origin can vary; established sourcing is generally plant-derived (tall oil from pine trees).
