Is Lauramide MEA vegan?

Lauramide MEA is the monoethanolamide of lauric acid, used as a foam booster and thickener in cosmetic products. Lauric acid can be derived from coconut or palm kernel oil, but also potentially from animal fats.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
