Is Magnesium Citrate vegan?

Magnesium citrate is the magnesium salt of citric acid, produced synthetically or via fermentation, used as an acidity regulator and dietary supplement. It is approved in the US (INS 345) but not currently listed as an EU-approved food additive.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
