Is Perlite vegan?

Perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass formed by the hydration of obsidian, which expands greatly when heated. In cosmetics it is used as an abrasive exfoliant and absorbent, consisting chiefly of silicon, aluminum, sodium and potassium oxides.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
