Polyester-40 is a copolymer formed by the condensation of hydrogenated dimer acids and hydrogenated dimer alcohols, capped with stearic acid; the dimer acids are derived from rapeseed acid via hydrogenation and reduction reactions.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
