Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate is an ester formed from polyglycerin-2 and polyhydroxystearic acid, used as an emulsifier in cosmetic formulations. The hydroxystearic acid component may be derived from plant sources (such as castor oil) or, less commonly, animal fats.
