Is Ponceau 6R vegan?

Ponceau 6R is a synthetic red azo dye soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol, typically presented as a disodium salt. It was formerly used as a food dye and is also used in histology for staining fibrin. It is also known as Crystal Scarlet, Crystal Ponceau 6R, Brilliant Crystal Scarlet 6R, or Acid Red 44.
