Is Purpuroxanthin vegan?

Purpuroxanthin (1,3-dihydroxyanthraquinone) is an organic compound found naturally in plants such as Rubia cordifolia (Indian madder) and related species. It is one of ten dihydroxyanthraquinone isomers and is used as a dye. It is also known as xanthopurpurin.
