Resveratrol (3,5,4′-trihydroxy-trans-stilbene) is a natural stilbenoid polyphenol produced by plants such as grapes, berries, and peanuts as a phytoalexin in response to injury or pathogen attack. It is also produced synthetically for use in cosmetics and supplements.
