Is Riboflavin-5-Phosphate vegan?

Riboflavin-5-Phosphate

Vegan Unconfirmed
Vegetarian Unconfirmed

Riboflavin-5-phosphate, also known as flavin mononucleotide (FMN), is a more water-soluble form of riboflavin (vitamin B2) used as a food colourant and nutritional supplement. It can be produced via microbial fermentation or chemical phosphorylation of riboflavin.

Why unconfirmed?

Riboflavin-5-Phosphate can be either derived from animal, or non-animal sources. The ingredient name itself is identical either way, so the label alone can’t tell you which. Only a supplier declaration can.
