Squalene
Unconfirmed
Squalene is a natural triterpene hydrocarbon found abundantly in the liver of deep-sea sharks and also present in plant-derived oils such as olive oil, amaranth seed oil, and rice bran oil. It is used in cosmetics as an emollient and antioxidant, and the source (animal or plant) varies by supplier.
