sr-Dog Polypeptide-1 is a recombinant single-chain protein produced by fermentation in E. coli, using a synthetic gene identical to the one coding for canine (dog) Epidermal Growth Factor. The protein contains up to 1216 amino acids composed of the standard 20 amino acids, and although modeled on a dog protein sequence, it is manufactured biotechnologically without animal involvement.
