Is Stearic Acid vegan?

Stearic Acid is a saturated C18 fatty acid occurring naturally in animal fats (such as beef tallow, lard) and in plant-derived fats (such as palm oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter). It is widely used in cosmetics and personal care products as an emulsifier, thickener, and skin-conditioning agent.
