Is Stearyl/Behenyl Alcohol vegan?

Stearyl/Behenyl Alcohol is a mixture of fatty alcohols consisting predominantly of stearyl alcohol (1-octadecanol) and behenyl alcohol (1-docosanol). These saturated fatty alcohols can be derived from plant oils or produced synthetically, and are used as emollients, emulsifiers, and thickeners in cosmetics.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
