Steviol glycosides from fermentation (E960b) are high-intensity sweeteners structurally identical to those found in the Stevia rebaudiana plant but produced via microbial fermentation using engineered yeast or bacteria rather than direct plant extraction. They are used as non-caloric sweeteners in food and cosmetic products.
