Acid Orange 20 (CI 14600), also known as Orange I, is a synthetic azo dye and one of the first water-soluble dyes to be commercialised. It was one of the seven original food dyes permitted under the U.S. Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906, though it is no longer approved for food use in many jurisdictions.
