Is Alpha-Tocopherol vegan?

Alpha-tocopherol is a naturally occurring form of vitamin E used in cosmetics and food as an antioxidant. It can be derived from vegetable oils or produced synthetically, and is registered as EU food additive E307 (INS 307a for the l-alpha isomer).

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
