Disperse Red 9
Disperse Red 9, also known as 1-(methylamino)anthraquinone, is a red anthraquinone-based dye used in textile dyeing and historically in coloured smoke formulations such as the M18 smoke grenade and dye packs. It produces red to violet-red colours and its smoke-producing properties can be enhanced by coating dye particles with an inert material such as epoxy resin.
