Gossypetin (3,5,7,8,3′,4′-hexahydroxyflavone) is a naturally occurring flavonol found in the flowers and calyx of Hibiscus sabdariffa (roselle) and other plants. It exhibits antibacterial and radioprotective activity, and has been found to act as an antagonist of the TrkB receptor.
