Malt Extract is a dark syrup obtained by evaporating an aqueous extract of partially germinated and dried barley (Hordeum vulgare) seeds. It is widely used in food, beverages and cosmetics.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
