Is Natural Red 24 vegan?

Brazilin is a natural red dye extracted from the heartwood of Paubrasilia echinata (brazilwood), which oxidises to form brazilein. It has been used historically as a textile dye and is classified as a natural colorant under the Colour Index as CI 75280.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
