Is Ponceau S vegan?

Ponceau S is a synthetic sodium salt of a diazo dye with a light red colour, used to prepare a stain for rapid, reversible detection of protein bands on nitrocellulose, PVDF, and cellulose acetate membranes in western blotting. The stain is easily removed by water washes, facilitating subsequent immunological detection. It is also known as Acid Red 112.
