Is Sarsasapogenin vegan?

Sarsasapogenin is a steroidal spirostanol sapogenin derived from plant saponins, notably found in sarsaparilla (Smilax species). It was among the first sapogenins identified and played a key role in the development of industrial steroid hormone synthesis.
