Is Thionin vegan?

Thionin (also known as Lauth's violet) is a synthetic cationic thiazine dye used as a biological stain in histology and microscopy. It is a small synthetic organic molecule and should not be confused with thionins, which are a family of plant proteins. It is produced entirely from synthetic precursors.
