Is Ferrous Lactate vegan?

Ferrous lactate is the iron(II) salt of lactic acid, produced by the direct action of lactic acid on iron filings or by the interaction of calcium lactate with ferrous sulfate. It is used as an iron supplement and as a colour retention agent in food and cosmetics.
