Is Lysozyme vegan?

Lysozyme is an antimicrobial enzyme (N-acetylmuramide glycanohydrolase/muramidase) naturally found in egg white, tears, and other secretions. In commercial use it is primarily extracted from hen egg white and used as a preservative in food and cosmetics.
