Is Sodium Bicarbonate vegan?

Sodium bicarbonate (sodium hydrogen carbonate) is an inorganic salt produced industrially via the Solvay process or by carbonation of sodium carbonate solutions. Commonly known as baking soda, it is widely used as a leavening agent in food, as a pH adjuster, and as a mild abrasive in cosmetics.
