Sorbitan Stearate (Sorbitan Monostearate) is an emulsifier produced by reacting stearic acid with sorbitol, yielding a mixture of esters. Stearic acid can be derived from animal or vegetable fats, making the overall origin dual. It is commercially known as Span 60.
