Triphosphates (E451) are salts of triphosphoric acid, commonly used as food additives for water retention, emulsification, and as sequestrants. They include pentasodium triphosphate and pentapotassium triphosphate.

An ingredient is considered vegan if it contains no animal-derived components at any point in its production.
