Is Isinglass vegan?

Isinglass is a very pure form of gelatin derived from the dried swim (air) bladders of freshwater fish, especially sturgeon. It is used primarily as a fining agent in the production of beer and wine to clarify the liquid, and historically in food and adhesive applications.

Classifications are made to the best of our knowledge based on available scientific and regulatory sources. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of every entry, errors in the sources we draw from can always occur.
